We had a great celebration of Holi festival at NYKM on Feb 28th. Day started with Satyanaryan puja. Then we had prosad and bhog. We started playing holi around 2:30 p.m., it went till 4:30 p.m.

It was great fun, kids enjoyed most. Adults specially women took very active part in playing holi. There were spontaneous holi songs and some dances with different color fug flowing in the air.

Musical event by famous Kolkata artist Somen Adhikery accopanied by accomplished dhol and tabla player Asim Dasgupta was wonderful. Mr. Adhikery started with famous holi song and ended his performance with bengali gold oldies. Solo performance of percussion by 'Gupi Gayen Bagha Bayen' famous Asim Dasgupta was excellent.

Special lecture series at NYKM
by Swami Nikhilananda

Swami Nikhilanand left behind western belief and chose Hinduism as a young man. He is very well versed in prime bharatiya scriptures (Upanishad,Darshan Shastra,Gita, Bhagwatam ). Swami Nikhilanand has lectured throughout the U.S. inspiring the audiences with his clear and practical representation of Hindu Dharm.

This is his second appearance at NYKM, his last series of lectures were deeply appreciated by adults and children audience of NYKM. Please mark your calender and attend the session with your children.
